rejection sucks

it can break your heart

and you have to bounce back otherwise what else is there

i have many collections of rejection

my art rejections are in the beginning stages. i want many more. a war chest more.

because with them a few wins come through and the art making has a venue for airing. and that's probably something. this year there were a few rejections, burning man grant, pdf grant, yaddo residency, vox application.

there were also unexpected wins, vox vi; art in the open; invites like to philadelphia underground, guest critter at temple, advisor for a thesis project; one hour photo show and s.u.a.i.l.a.y.a.

it's the other categories of rejections that i am struggling with right now. good thing i have perspective and am not completely lost in the hopelessness of the moment. thanks blog writing. it still hurts but it will pass.

what's that cliche phrase, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger.
