Deidra, I will not be able to help you on this. When I was struggling to make a
living, I did everything I can - from being a waitress to being a translator. I always
felt that creative work I did was something sacred and I did not want to
commercialize it. Maybe it is hard to have such an attitude these days. So I don't
know. Just do what you can do to survive but never compromise with your
artwork. Lots of love, yoko

hello yoko ono
i have admired your work for quite sometime now since being in graduate school
for my mfa. in fact last semester i wrote a paper comparing your work with alison
knowles. "wall piece for orchestra: hit a wall with your head" inspired part of an
amazing dance video that i made that semester too.
i posted a new blog "the path"
http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&frien
dID=18230314&blogID=343650734&indicate=1
that was part of an email correspondence between a fellow mfa student and me.
we are in the constant struggle of making a living, going to school and being an
artist. given your experience of the art world, any advice you could offer would
be wonderful! and even better if it was part of the blog.
thank you for your consideration,
diedra
