cartwheels

the computer at the residency doesn't have audio, so i have no idea what she is saying, but i can only imagine that if i could, then i would totally be able to do an aerial too.

and backhandsprings

it occurred to me that i had the privilege of going to gymnastic camp for a week in my early teens. and one time also we went to the bahamas to a club med and i was the acrobat for the opening performance. i have no idea how i convinced them of that or why they let me. i remember the crowd laughing a lot. but i was assured it was not at me. but i remember not being able to stay on the beat with the moves or being able to remember the sequence after lots of practice and being terrified on show night so i'm sure somehow those to events are related.

also i never made it up to the a team in gymnastics from b team because i couldn't do a backhandspring. and i think i stopped going to gymnastics because the specialist doctor who i went to when i found out i had scoliosis said it was bad for my back. i might have to check those facts.

nevertheless i am pursuing this dream as art. i did cartwheels, handstands and started backbends today. it was so fun after the computer was not agreeing with me. i'm sure the results after 10 days of this rigorous routine will be astonishing.
