Color is Luxury Clip; Collectives

every morning i wake up and write. this morning i was categorizing art collectives in philadelphia. modernist, post-modernist, and socialist; and the corresponding music scenes. i think post-modernism might be ending. irony is boring except maybe in fashion. subjectivity is still interesting in terms of your awareness of it when addressing an audience. well i still like thinking from outerspace. but how you gonna evoke transformation of your viewer through your art.... oneliners thud like a dead mouse to the sidewalk.

i did a little g search on the death of postmodernism and found a manifesto: ALTERMODERN
MANIFESTO
by none other than Nicolas Bourriaud. altomodernism? i have to digest. i do like the idea of time-specific in contrast to site specific.

fast trip long drop by gregg bordowitz is up on ubuweb.

compliment yourself today and often.

Perhaps, postmodernism is not ending. Perhaps, it has already ended. It seems like once something has already been labeled, it is already on its way out. I suspect postmodernism had been done with for some time. Education is fixated on it because it is what we are derived from. It is what birthed us. It is what we push against. It is what raised us. It is where we are moving from.
